Kuwaiti company Alshaya Group is offered to buy the state share of the hotel “Uzbekistan”.
This was announced following negotiations with the Alshaya Group delegation headed by the executive director Mokhammed al-Shaya, which took place at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan.
“Purpose of the talks was to discuss prospects for the investment presence of the holding in Uzbekistan, in particular, in the tourism industry. The delegation of Alshaya Group expressed a special interest in the development of hotel business: both through construction of new buildings and possibility of privatizing existing facilities that need to be renovated for further use. One of these objects could be the hotel “Uzbekistan”,” the press service of the Ministry reported.
It should be recalled that recently, the state put up for sale its share of 80.13% in the hotel “Uzbekistan”. According to the State Assets Management Agency, starting price of the hotel is $33 million.
