The Main Department for State Financial Control last year, during inspections, revealed violations in the state structures and organizations financed from the budget totaling 539.3 billion soums (approximately $63 million), Kun.uz correspondent reports.
Embezzlement and other forms of violations occurred mainly in the system of Ministry of Public Health 17.1 billion soums (13.1 billion soums reimbursed to the budget), the Ministry of Public Education - 10.9 billion soums (9 billion soums), the Ministry of Higher Education - 6.6 billion soums (4.5 billion soums), the Ministry of Preschool Education - 5.4 billion soums (4.4 billion soums).
In institutions financed from local budgets, the largest amount of violations of budget legislation was recorded in the Fergana region - 6.2 billion soums, Andijan region - 5.6 billion soums, Surkhandarya region - 4.3 billion soums and Samarkand region - 3.4 billion soums.
According to the Ministry of Finance, 201 managers and officials of organizations that committed violations of budgetary discipline were brought to administrative responsibility.
It is especially alarming that in 2017 such violations amounted to 534.1 billion soums. That is, it turns out that the situation is not improving, but only getting worse. State money continues to be “nicked” and worthlessly spent.
