Uzbekistan to establish a logistics center in the Vladimir region, Russia

A new logistics center for the export of Uzbek goods will be built in the Vladimir region, Russian Federation.

This became known during the meeting of the governor of the Vladimir region with the ambassador of Uzbekistan to Russia Botirjon Asadov.

The main topic of the meeting was the expansion of cooperation between the Vladimir region and Uzbekistan. The parties reported on plans to increase the volume of mutual trade, increase the number of joint activities and implement a number of promising projects.

Entrepreneurs of the two countries made presentations of their capabilities and plans for the future.

Mr. Asadov noted that following the results of the past year, Russia remains one of the largest trade partners of the republic. Mutual trade grew by 21% and reached $5.7 billion. At the same time, the volume of commodity turnover of the Vladimir region with Uzbekistan for the ten months of 2018 was $24.1 million.

It was noted at the meeting that enterprises of Uzbekistan can expand exports of modern passenger cars, textile, leather and footwear products, electrical and mechanical equipment, household appliances and other goods to the Vladimir region.

In addition, a proposal was made to establish wholesale distribution centers in the two countries to organize the supply of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan to Russia. This will significantly reduce costs and increase mutual trade. Work has already begun on the preparation of the necessary documents.
