The Uzbek government plans to change the rates of customs fees. All rates may be established as per the minimum monthly wage. A proposal of the State Customs Committee was published on the web-portal regulation.gov.uz.
Customs fee is different from the customs duty. The rate is charged for the provision of customs services such as clearance of goods, customs escort of goods and etc.
According to the draft resolution, the size of the customs fee will be expressed in the MMW. So, for the registration of goods, the cost of which does not exceed $ 10,000, the owner will have to pay 1 MMW. Previously, the rate was determined as a percentage of the value of the goods.
In case of exceeding the value of goods up to $ 1 million, the customs fee will be 115 minimum monthly wages.
Also, the rates of fees expressed in euros are proposed to be changed to an equivalent to the minimum monthly wage.
For example, a customs escort of one vehicle up to 200 km will cost 5 MMW. In accordance with the current law, the service costs 50 euros in equivalent.
