According to the report of “Norma”, the agency “Uzstandart” and the International Bureau of Weights and Measures signed a memorandum of understanding on mutual recognition of calibration and measurement certificates issued by National Measurement Standards and National Metrology Institutes.
Implementation of the agreement eyes the following results:
1) recognition of the results of measurements and tests in the export of domestic products;
2) elimination of technical barriers in trading, as well as conducting trades with the possible comparison of international and national standards of foreign countries every year;
For reference: In accordance with the requirements of the ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation), it is necessary to systematically participate in the comparisons of COOMET (Euro-Asian Cooperation of National Metrological Institutions) to prove the provision of observance.
3) reducing the subservience of local enterprises to foreign metrological institutes;
For reference: During 2012-2017, calibration was carried out by 7 standard units and 387 sets of standard measuring devices. It cost almost $ 260,000. Participation in major comparisons will help to prevent such charges.
4) compensation of the needs of the leading sectors of economy, social sectors, science and country defense in ensuring uniformity of measurements;
5) increase in the accuracy of measurements in order to reduce the cost of comparisons and make reliable estimates of raw materials, resources, materials, quantities and quality of products;
6) providing a technical basis for the planning and implementation of scientific-technical cooperation, innovation, international trade and commercial agreements related to the development of regulatory documents;
7) ensuring the observation of measuring results by instruments of measurement;
8) training of highly qualified specialists by means of participation in seminars and courses, metrological activities as well as familiarization with the publications of science communities.
