In the first three quarters of this year, Uzbekistan has seriously increased the trade indicators with the countries of the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC), the Minister of foreign trade Jamshid Khodjayev said.
“It is gratifying to note that trade with CAREC member countries is growing at an accelerated pace. Over the first three quarters of this year, the volume of mutual trade between Uzbekistan, Pakistan and Mongolia has more than doubled, with Tajikistan and Azerbaijan increased by almost 60%, with Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic grew by more than 45%, with China rose about 30%, with Turkmenistan - by 17%, and with Afghanistan - by 11%”, he noted during the CAREC Ministerial conference in Ashgabat.
In this regard, the Minister noted, the joint efforts of countries should focus primarily on mutual trade facilitation, the elimination of various trade barriers, both technical and sanitary, phytosanitary, which often become irresistible and their withdrawal requires significant strength and time.
Mr. Khodjayev also added that Uzbekistan is committed to further liberalizing trade and stimulating the openness of markets.
