Chairman of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan (CBU) participates in the VIII Congress of Kazakhstan’s Financiers. The event is taking place in Almaty on November 15-16.
The Congress is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the introduction of national currency of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At the event, more than 300 representatives from 20 different countries of the world participate, including the heads of central banks of foreign countries, representatives of international financial organizations and professionals of the financial market.
This year the event is organized in a new format. It is planned to hold various sessions on topics devoted to the challenges faced by central banks in modern conditions, financial architecture, as well as sessions on the use of national currencies in cross-border payments, risk-oriented supervision and protection of consumers’ rights in financial services.
At the plenary session “Challenges faced by the central bank in modern conditions”, heads of the central banks of Russia, Mongolia, Pakistan and Uzbekistan presented reports. Report of the Chairman of CBU Mamariso Nurmuratov was devoted to the development of banking sector of Uzbekistan and challenges faced by regulator in the transition to inflation targeting.
During the plenary session, issues of formation and development of the national currency of Kazakhstan - tenge, sessions on the prospects for expanding the use of national currencies in mutual settlements, as well as on improving the supervisory process for regulators were discussed.
