By the end of 2018, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan is expected to grow by 5-5.2%. In 2019 this figure will be 5.4%, Finance Minister Jamshid Kochkarov said at a meeting with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) representative.
Earlier, the Ministry of Finance said that the volume of Uzbekistan’s GDP in 2018 would amount to 336 trillion sums (around $ 40 billion).
For the first nine months of 2018, the country’s GDP grew by 5.2% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 244,343.7 billion sums (around $ 29.6 billion).
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) predicted that Uzbekistan's GDP growth in 2018 would decline from 5.5% to 4.9%. It was said due to long-term devaluation in the country.
Experts of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said that Uzbekistan's gross domestic product (GDP) in 2018-2019 will grow by 5% and in 2023 by 6%.
