The Malaysian company “Serba Dinamik Group Berhad” plans to construct a caustic soda plant in Uzbekistan for $250 million, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
This was announced during negotiations between the first deputy chairman of the State Investment Committee of Uzbekistan Sunatulla Bekenov, the khokim of Khorezm region Farhod Ermanov and the vice-president of the Malaysian company “Serba Dinamik Group Berhad” Palendran Palachandran.
“At the meeting, issues were discussed on the implementation of the investment project “Organization of caustic soda production” in “Hazarasp” FEZ which is worth $ 250 million. This project will be supported through direct investment by a Malaysian company,” the State Investment Committee said.
Palendran Palachandran said that in December, it is planned to sign a cooperation agreement on the implementation of this project and in April 2019 - an investment agreement. The project implementation period will consist of 18 months after signing the investment agreement.
As stated by Mr. Palachandran, 120 new jobs will be created at the new plant and all products will be export-oriented. The equipment for the plant will be manufactured by Thyssenkrupp AG (Germany). The industrial residue in the production of caustic soda - chlorine, will be exported to North African countries through this company.
