Uzbek government adopted 17 national sustainable development goals

In accordance with the Decree “On measures to implement the national goals and objectives for sustainable development by 2030” issued by the government of Uzbekistan, necessary steps will be taken to realize 17 national goals, Kun.uz reports.

The Uzbek government is planning to reduce poverty, strengthen food security, improve diet, promote healthy lifestyle, provide inclusive and equitable quality education to people and ensure gender equality among the citizens of the country within the framework of the document.

Furthermore, it is intended to provide access to affordable energy for all, boost economic growth, build resilient infrastructure and reduce domestic inequalities in compliance with the agenda.

The government will strive for ensuring safety in cities and towns and take necessary measures to combat climate change.

Protecting and restoring ecosystems are also included in the national goals.
