On Oct. 18, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin arrived in Uzbekistan on a state visit at the invitation of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the press service of the head of state reports.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev met the distinguished guest at the Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov. The presidents had a brief conversation.
The main events of the visit are scheduled for October 19.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin will discuss prospects for further strengthening strategic partnership and alliance, practical implementation of mutually beneficial cooperation on new joint projects and programs in various fields. The sides will exchange views on international and regional issues.
Following the talks, a Joint Statement of the Heads of State will be adopted and the signing of the Economic Cooperation Program for 2019-2024 will also take place.
Furthermore, the parties are expected to ink major investment and trade contracts between regions and business circles of Uzbekistan and Russia.
