Russian state-run “Roskosmos” corporation is ready to launch a new satellite for Kazakhstan and calls for Uzbekistan to cooperate.

Roskosmos's representative in Central Asia Anatoly Krasnikov stated about it in the first Uzbek-Russian interregional forum at “UzExpoCenter”. “Kazakhstan is thinking of replacing the spacecraft “KazSat-2” in orbit. So it is possible to establish tripartite cooperation with the participation of Uzbekistan,” Mr. Krasnikov said.

In 2023, Kazakhstan plans to replace the satellite “KazSat-2” with “KazSat-2R”.

Ambassador of Russia to Uzbekistan Vladimir Tyurdenev noted - “such cooperation will be the first in the history of Russia-Uzbekistan relations.”

Olimjon Umarov, First Deputy Minister of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan said that the contract with “Roskosmos” is being considered.
