Agenda of Vladimir Putin’s state visit to Uzbekistan made public

On Oct. 18, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin will pay a state visit to Uzbekistan at the invitation of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the press service of the President said.

During the meeting, the heads of states will exchange views on the current state of Uzbek-Russian multifaceted relations, discuss prospects for further strengthening strategic partnership and alliance,  consider expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, practical implementation of new joint projects and programs in various fields.

The agenda also includes discussing topical international issues, including ensuring stability and security in the region, promoting the peace process in Afghanistan.

Within the framework of Vladimir Putin’s state visit, a joint Educational Forum and the Forum of Interregional Cooperation “Uzbekistan - Russia” will be held for the first time. Besides, the presidents will attend the ceremony of launching the construction of a nuclear power plant in our country.

Following the talks, the Joint Statement of the Heads of State will be adopted and the signing of the Economic Cooperation Program for 2019-2024 will also take place.

The Program of Cooperation in the Cultural and Humanitarian Spheres for 2019-2021, agreements on the establishment and operation of branches of the leading universities of Russia in Uzbekistan, the Road Map on the creation of the Suffa International Radio Astronomy Observatory and a number of other important documents are expected to be inked.

During the visit, the sides will sign major investment and trade contracts between regions and business circles of Uzbekistan and Russia.
