The UFC Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov was gifted a car by the Foundation named after Ahmad Hoji Kadirov in honor of his victory over Irishman Conor McGregor, TASS reports quoting the Chechen leader Ramzan Kadirov as saying.

Mr. Kadirov also noted in his telegram channel that the wrestler was awarded the title of "Honorable citizen of Grozniy" by Ibrahim Zakriyev, the governor of the city.

Abdulmannob Nurmagomedov, Russian sportsman's father and trainer, was awarded the title of "Honored Coach of Physical Training in Chechnya".

UFC 229, the fight for the middleweight belt between Nurmagomedov and McGregor, was held on October 6, Las Vegas. In the fourth round, Russian fighter defeated his opponent, as Mr. Putin later defined, “convincingly”.

Earlier it was reported that McGregor apologized to Nurmagomedov during the fight.
