UEFA Headquarters hosted a meeting of the Executive Committee of the organization on September 26 in Nyon, Switzerland. 17 members of the Committee took part in the voting to determine the host of the Euro-2024.
According to the results of the vote, Germany gained the right to host the 2024 continental championship.
To date, Germany has hosted the World Cup games twice and the European Championship once.
It is noteworthy that only two countries - Germany and Turkey – competed for the title of the Euro-2024 host country. The Turks lost in the voting for the fourth time in a row. Their attempts in 2008, 2012 and 2016 were in vain.
