President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Tajikistan on September 27-28, where he will take part in the meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State in Dushanbe, his spokesman Komil Allamjonov said on Monday.
A number of bilateral events are planned on the first day of the visit.
“On September 28, the President of Uzbekistan will participate in the meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State in Dushanbe. Negotiations will be held in narrow and extended formats, and a number of documents will be signed following the talks,” reads the press secretary’s message.
Earlier, the CIS Executive Committee reported that the Council of CIS Heads of State will consider in Tajikistan issues of political interaction, cooperation in cultural and humanitarian areas, as well as topics related to security.
Furthermore, within the framework of the summit, Heads of CIS states are expected to visit Tursunzoda, a city known for its aluminum smelting plant TadAZ.
