On June 3, 2016, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Sayid Shahobuddin Temuriy.

The Ambassador presented copy of his credentials.

During the conversation, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of Uzbek-Afghan relations.

The sides also exchanged views on the forthcoming meeting of the Council of Heads of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, in which Afghanistan will participate as an observer state.
