On May 26, the capital will host XV Asian Continental Chess Championship, according to the press service of the Chess Federation of Uzbekistan.
Tashkent will see the strongest chess players from 20 Asian countries - Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Mongolia, New Zealand, Oman, Pakistan, Singapore, UAE and others.
The first line of the tournament table is occupied by the strongest chess player of Vietnam and the World Blitz Champion of 2013, international grandmaster Le Quang Liem (rating - 2718).
Second on the list - the leader of chess in Uzbekistan and Central Asia, the World chess champion in 2004, international grandmaster Rustam Kasimdzhanov, whose ranking last year comprised 2715 (January 1, 2016 - 2703).
Third on the list - a seventeen-year-old chess player from China, who became a grandmaster at the age of 13 years, last years champion of China Wei I (2694), whose rating already has reached 2737.
Silver medalist of FIDE Grand Prix in Tehran, international master Hademalsharie Sarasadat (2459), world champion in 2010 Guo Qi from China (2447), winner of the tournament in Zurich in 2010 Munguntuul Batkhuyag from Mongolia (2442), champion of India Padmini Rout (2433) will perform on preliminary composition among women.
Uzbekistan will be represented by such international grandmasters as Rustam Kasimdjanov, Jahongir Vahidovov, Marat Jumayev, this year’s champion of the republic Yakubboev Nodirbek, women international masters Gulruhbegim Tohirjonova, Irina Gevorgyan and other chess players of the country.
