Chinese energy company Jin Ming to invest $250 million in Andijan's waste-to-energy project

At an international forum, the Andijan regional administration and the Chinese energy company Jin Ming signed a memorandum on an investment project, according to the regional administration's press service.

The project, with an investment of $250 million, focuses on waste processing for the generation of electricity.

The facility will be located in the Andijan region, with construction set to commence as early as next month.

The memorandum was signed during the International Investment and Trade Forum in China. Additionally, the parties discussed five other promising projects with a total value of $100 million at the event.

In May, the Chinese company CAMCE signed a memorandum for the construction of Uzbekistan’s first waste-to-energy plant.

Furthermore, the American company Sayar will produce energy from medical waste in Uzbekistan. This project is set to start on August 1 in Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara, with plans to expand to other regions later.
