Uzbekistan is considering opening a regional distribution center in Qatar, according to the press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI).

On September 5, CCI Chairman Davron Vakhabov discussed with Ali bin Abdullatif Al-Misned, a board member of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce, the project to create a distribution center for Uzbek goods in Hamad Port, aimed at serving the Gulf countries.

The project plans to involve Qatar Airways for cargo transportation.

According to the press service of the CCI, the distribution center, if established, will store a variety of products, including textiles, leather and footwear, sericulture, food products, electrical goods, pharmaceuticals, jewelry, furniture, chemicals/perfumes, cosmetics, automotive parts, metallurgy products, and construction materials.

The project is being initiated by the CCI of Uzbekistan and Qatar, along with the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade. The project is currently in the negotiation phase with the Qatari side.

"As of today, the Uzbek side is waiting for information from the Qatari side regarding the size and rental price of the distribution center at Hamad Port," the CCI reported.

Additionally, the parties have agreed to hold an Uzbek-Qatari business forum in Namangan region in October. The first meeting of the Business Partners Council is also scheduled to take place in Doha in mid-November, where the council will be formed and strategic areas for expanding bilateral cooperation will be discussed.
