Pakistan has waived the fees for obtaining electronic visas for citizens of 126 countries, according to visasnews.com.

The list includes Uzbekistan, as well as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Russia, and Belarus. Citizens of the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, all EU countries, and several Middle Eastern states are also exempt from visa fees.

Electronic visas can be obtained on the website of Pakistan's Ministry of Interior within 24 hours by providing a photo and a copy of the passport. The visa is valid for 90 days.

The head of the Islamic Republic's government, Shahbaz Sharif, announced the simplification of visa procedures at the end of July. The decision affects both tourist and business trips to Pakistan.

Additionally, Pakistan has completely abolished visa requirements for entrepreneurs from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Oman. This move is expected to boost business and investment activities.

The easing of the visa regime "will contribute to the economic stability of the country," Sharif stated. He also said this step will "make Pakistan an attractive destination for tourism and investment."
