Russia is considering the possibility of increasing the export of oil and oil products to Uzbekistan. Russian Deputy PM, Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov announced this at the meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan held in Moscow on December 15.

According to him, the parties are effectively cooperating in the field of standardization and metrology. At the moment, Uzbekistan has formed the recommended lists of test equipment for modernization and re-equipment of test laboratories.

“As a result, it will be possible to assess compliance with the requirements of 15 technical regulations of EAEU (Eurasian Economic Union). We attach great importance to cooperation in the field of energy and are studying the possibilities of increasing the supply of oil and oil products to Uzbekistan,” Manturov said.

It was noted that Russia supports Uzbekistan’s desire to develop its mineral base and is ready to continue discussing cooperation in the field of geology and subsoil use.

“We have successful oil and gas exploration projects in the Aral Sea and adjacent areas. For the first time in the history of the former Soviet Union, seismic exploration for hydrocarbon raw materials was carried out on the territory of Uzbekistan. Their results allow finding large, mainly gas deposits in the region,” he said.
