President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the head of the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) Gianni Infantino in New York on September 20.

The head of our state sincerely congratulated Gianni Infantino on the successful holding of the 2023 Women’s World Cup.

The effective partnership between Uzbekistan and FIFA was noted with particular satisfaction. Joint programs and projects for the development of football and broad involvement of young people are being implemented.

Issues of organization and holding of major FIFA international events in our country, including championships among women and juniors, were discussed.

The head of the federation congratulated Uzbekistan on hosting the FIFA Futsal World Cup for the first time in 2024 and wished success for its high-level implementation.

Also, Gianni Infantino highly appreciated the wide-scale work being carried out in the field of comprehensive support of public and professional football in our country, creation of modern infrastructure and educational base.
