Egyptian Hassan Allam plans to develop infrastructure in Uzbekistan

The Egyptian company Hassan Allam Holding is interested in setting up joint ventures in Uzbekistan, the MIIT press service reported

Recently, the head of the ministry, Laziz Kudratov, held online negotiations with the executive director of the company, Mahmoud el-Essaui. At the meeting, the parties reached agreements on the start of the implementation of investment projects in a number of areas.

In particular, Hassan Allam expects to cooperate in the production of steel pipes and aerated concrete blocks, waste-to-energy processing, construction and modernization of water management and heating facilities, etc.

Egyptian companies have recently shown increased activity in Uzbekistan. Thus, Orascom Construction announced plans to build a 200-hectare industrial zone in the Navoi region worth $50 million.

The Nile Sugar company intends to organize the cultivation of sugar beets in the Jizzakh region. The plantation and processing complex is supposed to expand on 52 thousand hectares.

In turn, Tashkent sees Egypt as a potential hub for organizing the delivery of its products to African countries. The other day, the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Davron Vakhabov, held talks on the opening of an Uzbek trading house in the city of Port Said.

For information, Hassan Allam Holding is one of the oldest and largest investment and industrial groups in Egypt. The holding with 45 thousand employees specializes in infrastructure projects, as well as in the production of building materials and chemicals for the construction industry.

The assets of Hassan Allam Holding amount to $8 billion. In five years, the company has implemented 70 major projects, and in 2022 Engineering News-Record included it in the top 250 construction and engineering companies in the world.
