According to the press service of the Uzbekistan Railways JSC, on July 4, the ceremony of departure of a container block train along the new multimodal route “Langfan – Kashgar – Irkeshtam – Osh – Tashkent” took place.
The pilot train from Langfan (China) set off with 41 wagons loaded with building materials.
The distance of the entire journey is about 6,000 kilometers, and the total weight of the cargo is more than 1,000 tons. Estimated travel time is about 12 days. Currently, this route (overland) is the shortest and fastest for the delivery of goods from China to Uzbekistan.
Transportation along the new multimodal corridor will be carried out from the point of departure by rail to the Kashgar station (China). Further, with transshipment, by road transport, the goods will be delivered to the Osh railway station (Kyrgyzstan).
From the Osh station to Tashkent, the goods will be delivered by rail as part of a freight train.
