The document was developed in accordance with the presidential decree “On approval of the investment program of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2022-2026 and the introduction of new approaches and mechanisms for managing investment projects”, Norma reports.

A preliminary agreement was reached with ADB on the signing of a loan agreement in the amount of $59 million for implementing the project “Comprehensive Urban Development Program of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

At the same time, goods purchased within the framework of projects implemented at the expense of funds (loans, credits) of international financial institutions and foreign government financial organizations in accordance with international treaties of Uzbekistan are exempt from customs duties.

The project implementation period is 5 years (2023-2027). The Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade has been identified as the executive body responsible for the timely implementation of the project, targeted and efficient use of ADB loans.

The document approved:

•  the main technical and economic parameters of the feasibility study of the project “Program for the integrated development of cities in the Republic of Uzbekistan”;
•  forecasted repayment schedule for the ADB loan and payment of interest on it within the framework of the project “Comprehensive Development of Cities of the Republic of Uzbekistan”;
•  a forecast schedule for the distribution of the shares of coverage of the ADB loan from 2028 within the framework of the project “Program for the integrated development of cities of the Republic of Uzbekistan”;
•  forecast of the distribution of shares in connection with covering the costs of servicing the ADB loan under the second component of the project “Comprehensive Urban Development Program of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
