MGTC is an agency under the Malaysian Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change. The main objective of the organization is to increase the share of green technologies in the economy and mitigate the effects of climate change.
MGTC has developed a program to reduce the impact of harmful gases on the environment by 45% by 2030 compared to 2005. In accordance with this program, it is planned to create 230,000 jobs by increasing the share of “green” technologies in production.
At the meeting, the Malaysian side was provided with detailed information on the decision of the President of Uzbekistan on additional measures to improve the efficiency of the activities of the International Innovation Center of the Aral Sea Region. They also talked about the work of the center in cooperation with prestigious research institutes in China, Japan and Germany, specialized in solving environmental problems.
Representatives of MGTC made a presentation on the activities of the corporation. In particular, information was provided on the introduction of renewable energy sources and green technologies, desalination of sea and waste water and their use in order to prevent climate change. The Malaysian side expressed interest in establishing cooperation and invited to take part in the International Greentech and Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia - IGEM, which is scheduled to be held in Malaysia on October 4-6 this year.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to hold webinars on the introduction of renewable energy sources and “green” technologies and the study of Malaysia’s experience in desalination, taking into account the reserves and quality of water in the archipelago region.
