On the border of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, the construction of the “Andarkhon” trade-logistics center has begun, Spot reports with reference to the Tajik agency “Khovar”.
The launch ceremony for the construction of the center took place on March 13. It was attended by the delegation of the Sughd region of Tajikistan, the regional governor of Fergana Khayrullo Bozorov, the Tajik ambassador Abdujabbar Rahmonzoda, businessmen of the two countries.
The “Andarkhon” logistics center will be built on an area of 5 hectares. On the territory of the complex, there will be located 200 trade stalls, a bank, a canteen, a café, a hotel and a logistics center.
The center will sell products manufactured at the enterprises of the two regions. The total investment in the project, according to the Fergana regional administration, will be $7.8 million.
At the beginning of June 2022, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan planned in the near future to create a border trade and industrial zone near the “Oybek” and “Fotekhobod” checkpoints, which would include manufacturing enterprises, as well as logistics and wholesale distribution infrastructure.
In addition, at the same time, the parties agreed to increase the Uzbek-Tajik trade turnover in order to bring its value to $1 billion.
