The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Great Britain organized a meeting with Darius Nasimi, the founder of the “British-Central Asian Business Council” association.
It discussed the exchange of views on the results of D. Nasimi’s visit to Uzbekistan and the issues related to increasing the volume of export of textile products of Uzbekistan to the British market.
D. Nasimi made the following proposals to establish strong relations with the weavers of Uzbekistan:
• Firstly, to organize a trip of the leadership of the “Uztuqimachiliksanoat” Association and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry to Great Britain in November-December and to hold a presentation of the investment and export potential of the industry for representatives of British business circles;
• Secondly, to open an Uzbekistan trade house and showroom in London together with the “Uztuqimachiliksanoat” Association and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to send orders from British medium and small business representatives and corporate customers to local manufacturers located in Uzbekistan;
• Thirdly, to implement a project for the production of high-quality textile products adapted to the market of British and European countries in one of the regions of Uzbekistan and to attract investment for this purpose;
• Fourthly, to organize special presentations for British companies by Samarkand and Bukhara administrations and to establish direct cooperative relations with business representatives of the cities of London, Birmingham and Manchester.
According to the results of his marketing research, D. Nasimi was convinced that there are ample opportunities to turn the Uzbek textile sector into a “growth driver” of the country’s economy.
“The presence of a large base of raw materials in Uzbekistan, the measures taken by the government to further develop the sphere, and the granting of the status of a beneficiary country to Britain within the expanded scheme of general system of preferences is important,” he said.
