The Uzbekistan metallurgical combine has a great role in the economic and social development of this land. It includes dozens of enterprises and social institutions. 11,000 people work at the combine.
Therefore, special attention has been paid to expanding its activities. In recent years, a number of investment projects have been implemented, new workshops have been launched, existing ones have been modernized.
One of them is a variety rolling complex. A thermo-strengthening line was brought here from abroad for a project worth about $5 million, and it was put into operation in February of this year. Through this, a production capacity of 500,000 tons of A500-A800 fittings per year was created.
During his visit to the combine, the head of state came to this complex and was interested in the economic efficiency of the project.
First of all, the cost of fittings has decreased due to the saving of chemicals in the thermo-strengthening process. It is calculated to replace imports worth $300 million per year.
Another important point is that this fixture has obtained the international DIN standard certificate. Now it is planned to export this product to Europe.
The President visited the construction site of another important project at the combine - the casting complex.
As a result of this project worth €672 million, the production of 1 million tons of steel sheets per year will be launched. After this project is launched, the capacity of the combine will increase by 2 times.
Today, the construction of the railway and highway for the complex has been completed, and reinforced concrete structures are being installed. The necessary equipment is brought by the Italian company “Danieli”. It is planned to be launched in 2024.
The head of state emphasized the need to speed it up and provide the enterprise with guaranteed raw materials.
“At one time, processing of 800-900 thousand tons of secondary black metal was enough for this combine. But today the demand for black metal in our economy is 4 million tons. 50% of it is covered by imports. Therefore, if we launch this enterprise as soon as possible, it will be of great benefit to our economy,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
The head of state also talked with leaders of the Turkish “Renaissance Heavy Industries” and the Italian “Danieli”, which are participating in this project.
