According to preliminary estimates, in January-September 2021, the GDP of Uzbekistan amounted to 519,825.1 billion soums and compared to the corresponding period of the previous year increased by 6.9% in real terms. The GDP deflator index in relation to prices in January-September 2020 amounted to 113.5%.
Uzbekistan plans to increase GDP per capita by 1.6 times in the next five years. This was stated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the congress of the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan.
“By 2030, we will be able to increase per capita income to $4,000 and create a solid foundation for becoming one of the upper middle-income countries. Of course, this is not an easy task. To achieve this, we must, first of all, radically change labor efficiency through the creation of new technologies and value chains through development based on science and innovation in the economy,” said Mirziyoyev back then.
