In January-May 2021, Uzbekistan exported $134.9 million worth of cars to foreign countries. Car exports increased by about $85 million compared to the same period last year.
In the first five months of this year, Kazakhstan was the largest importer of cars from Uzbekistan ($127.1 million).
During the reporting period, Afghanistan ($2.7 million), Ukraine ($2.3 million), Kyrgyzstan ($1.0 million), Russia ($955.9 thousand), Azerbaijan ($444.7 thousand) and Tajikistan ($339.1 thousand) were among the top importers of Uzbek-made cars.
In 2020, Uzbekistan exported 13,812 units of vehicles to Kazakhstan for $131.9 million. This is 83% of Uzbekistan’s exports.
Earlier in May, it was reported that cars worth $37 million were imported into the country.
