Modernizing gas transmission system, improving management of extraction, processing, transportation and sales of natural gas – the tasks outlined by the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated July 09, 2019 – are the company’s priority.

Epsilon works closely with American specialists. For instance, an array of enhancements was introduced to optimize performance of Uralmash 3D drilling rig at Ayzavat well in Kultak-Kamashi investment block. The rig was equipped with modern 1,200 W CAT3512 gensets to raise energy efficiency and ensure uninterrupted operation. New SCR room ensures more rational use of generated power. Diesel generators on the rig floor were replaced with two US made electric motors as part of modernizing winch and pump unit drive. The motors were additionally equipped with blowers to keep them clean, increase their operating life and reduce time required for maintenance. Winch and pump control panel installed on the rig floor enables remote process management. Mud preparation unit was revamped to improve mud mixing and its overall quality while saving reagents.

The above ‘tuning’ allowed to reduce emissions and increase the mechanical drilling speed from 10 to 22 meters per hour. The latter improvement helped shorten drilling time by 25-30 days. A gas show was recorded during drilling pointing at large potential hydrocarbon reserves. Preparation for well completion is underway. An industrial inflow of natural gas is expected in the coming days that will indicate the discovery of a new field.
