Russia overtakes China in terms of creating companies in Uzbekistan

According to the State Statistics Committee data, the outbreak of coronavirus, which began in late December 2019, did not prevent Chinese investors from investing in Uzbekistan in January. But it had a significant impact on the creation of new companies in February.

From January to March, 43 companies with the Chinese capital were created. Of these, 38 were established in January and only 5 – in February. The total number of companies with the Chinese capital in Uzbekistan has grown to 1,695, Spot writes.

Against this background, Russia climbed to first place – in two months, 77 companies were created: 36 – in January and 41 – in February. The total number is 1,905.

Earlier it was reported that in 2019, China ranked first in terms of the number of newly created companies in Uzbekistan – last year, 531 companies with the Chinese capital appeared. Russia was then in the second place with 401 companies.
