Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Vagit Alekperov, President of the Russian company LUKOIL, the press service of the head of state reported.
During the meeting, prospects for further expansion of cooperation were examined.
Particular attention was paid to the issues of attracting experience and advanced solutions of the company in the field of corporate governance and the transition to digital technologies in the oil and gas industry.
The possibilities of deepening cooperation in the field of geological exploration and development of hydrocarbon deposits in Uzbekistan, including hard-to-recover ones, were discussed.
As an unconditional priority, cooperation in the field of scientific research and the training of highly qualified personnel for the energy sector was indicated.
To date, the company’s investment in joint projects is about $10 billion. The Kandym gas processing complex is successfully operating with a processing capacity of more than 8 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year. Development of deposits in the South-West Gissar and the Ustyurt region continues. In addition, LUKOIL actively supports social programs in the country.
