PWC and Arup consulting companies are preparing preliminary feasibility study for the project on construction of the toll road “Tashkent-Andijan”, the Public Private Partnership Development Agency reports.
“Uzbekistan may implement another toll road project. The project on the construction of the toll road “Tashkent-Andijan” is currently being prepared by the consulting companies (PWC, Arup). These companies will submit their documents by the end of February.
After the initial financial and technical calculations have been made, it is anticipated that an agreement on the project implementation will be signed with the World Bank.
In addition, according to international standards, the pavement must be made of cement or concrete, its impact on traffic flow and adjacent facilities, and other important technical and economic issues must be identified in the feasibility study (by October 2020).
When the project is considered feasible, tender documents will be drawn up (by April 2021), tendering procedures (by April 2022) and signing of a public-private partnership agreement with the winner will be completed in April 2022.
The construction will continue until 2025-2026, the report says.
It should be recalled that on December 9, 2019, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev approved a “roadmap” for the implementation of projects on the creation of toll roads on the public-private partnership basis.
