Uzbekistan is expanding cooperation with the United States of America at the regional level. Recently, a return visit of the khokim of Zarafshan to Clinton, Mississippi, took place, Sputnik writes.
During the working visit, the district’s khokim Anvar Rajabov met with the mayor, as well as with the state commissioner for agriculture and trade. Development and implementation of joint international projects was discussed at the meeting.
“We have a lot in common, we grow the same crops: cotton, rice, soy, some fruits,” the head of the Mississippi Agricultural Department E. Gibson said.
Negotiations were held with representatives of the company Continental Tires for the production of truck and car tires. It is expected that the enterprise will establish a plant in Uzbekistan. It became known that the next visit of the American delegation to Uzbekistan will take place in May 2020.
The delegation of Uzbekistan discussed the possibility of producing plastic bags with McNeely, a company specialized in the production of plastic bags for chemical and food industries.
Rajabov also met with the leadership of Mississippi State College, where they discussed issues of exchange of students and teachers, implementation of double-degree education programs and online education courses.
The parties agreed to develop cooperation between colleges and educational institutions.
It should be recalled that in May 2019, an American delegation led by the mayor of Mississippi visited Uzbekistan. During the visit, an agreement was signed on establishing twin city relations between Zarafshan and Clinton.
