The head of the Uztuqimachiliksanoat (Uzbekistan Textile Industry) Association Ilkhom Khaydarov said that 130 high-performance machines were bought this year to harvest cotton, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
“This year 130 high-performance machines were purchased to harvest cotton. It is planned that these machines will work on the fields of Andijan, Syrdarya, Kashkadarya and Tashkent regions,” Khaydarov said at a press conference.
He noted that if this year around 10% of cotton is harvested with the help of the purchased equipment, then this percentage will increase on a yearly basis.
“In January 2017, when the head of state instructed to create cotton-textile clusters, we had only one cluster. In 2018, there were two in Andijan, and one in each other region. Currently, 74 clusters operate in more than 84 districts,” the association’s head said.
