Russia to allocate $8 million to improve the tax system of Uzbekistan

The Federal Tax Service of the Russian Federation will spend 515 million rubles (more than $8 million) on “improving the tax system” of Uzbekistan, The Insider reports.

According to the newspaper, the first who showed interest in tender on the government procurement portal was the community “GosZatraty” (State Expenditures).

Russia intends to provide free technical assistance to Uzbekistan “in order to develop the tax administration system, including the improvement of property taxation and the creation of a system for working with taxpayers.”

Earlier, the head of the Federal Tax Service Mikhail Mishustin said that Uzbekistan and Russia are launching a joint project to modernize the tax system.

According to him, the project will include work on reengineering business processes, creating a system for working with taxpayers and improving the system of property taxation based on cadastral valuation.
