On July 9-10, a regular meeting of the CIS Tourism Council will be held in Samarkand, within the framework of which it is planned to hold the First Annual Tourism Fair, the press service of the State Committee for Tourism Development reported.
In order to accelerate the development of tourism industry in the CIS space, the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development, in the course of its participation in a relevant meeting in Dushanbe (Tajikistan) on August 10-11, 2018, proposed to hold the next meeting in Samarkand, and on September 28, 2018 presented a project of the First Annual Tourism Fair.
The program of events includes an international scientific-practical seminar on the theme “Tourism in the CIS countries and regional cooperation: new challenges and opportunities”.
This format allows participants to create a platform for a wide acquaintance with the tourist potential of the CIS countries, exchange of important trends and innovations, as well as intensification of direct dialogue between the tourist agencies of the region.
The main purpose of the event is to increase the number of joint projects in the field of tourism between the CIS countries, to maintain the spirit of “cooperation and good neighborliness”.
The organizers of the First Annual Tourism Fair in Samarkand are the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development, the Executive Committee of the CIS, the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan and the regional administration of Samarkand.
Among the participants of the tourism fair are relevant ministries and departments, heads of local authorities, representatives of the diplomatic corps, international organizations accredited in the country, representatives of travel agencies from the CIS space, leading local and foreign media.
