The Republican Festival of Folk Ensembles and Folk Storytellers titled “Nurli navolar” (“Light melodies”) held in Navoi region.
Performances of folklore ensembles in the complex "Chashma" in Nurata district made a vivid impression on the participants, particularly foreign visitors.
The folklore-ethnographic ensembles from all regions of the country presented their program.
The festival will be continued at the Pulkan-shoir square in Khatyrchi district. The People's sayil, cock and ram fights, kurash competitions were also held at this square.
Muhamedkul Jamratoglu Pulkan was known bakhshi, one of the founders of the Uzbek school storytellers of dastans. Bakhshi knew more than 70 poems by heart. Poet, eulogized the praises of his native land, good and humanism, left a rich spiritual heritage. The square on which the monument to the narrator stands, was landscaped. Beautiful fountains give the square an attractive appearance.
The first place at the festival was taken by bakhshi from Khorezm region Ruzimboy Normatatov. Sungat Jumahanov from Navoi region and Doston Normamatov from Khorezm region took second place. Third place went to Abdunazar Poyonov from Surkhandarya, Bahrom Rahimov from Kashkadarya, Nishonboy Urozov from Jizzakh region.
On the competition of folklore-ethnographic ensembles, collectives “Shula” from the Republic of Karakalpakstan and “Nurjahon” from Navoi region took first place. The second place was taken by “Horazm” and “Meros” from the Khorezm region. Third place was shared by the ensembles “Rizvongul” from Kashkadarya region, “Beshkarsak” from Samarkand region and “Kukon yor-yori” from Fergana region.
The khokim (head of administration) of the Navoi region E.Turdimov made a speech in event.
