Over 73,000 potent drug units seized at Uzbekistan–Kyrgyzstan border
A large batch of over 73,000 drug units was intercepted at the Uzbekistan–Kyrgyzstan border. Authorities are currently searching for the owners of the seized contraband.
As part of efforts to combat drug smuggling and illegal circulation, a rapid response operation was carried out jointly by the State Security Service’s Border Troops and the Fergana regional office. During the operation, it was discovered that unknown individuals had left a significant quantity of potent drugs along the section of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border passing through the Polmon neighborhood in Quvasoy city.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the contraband, brought in illegally from the Kyrgyz Republic, consisted of seven boxes containing 53,522 units of Regapen and 20,000 units of Zardex, with a total estimated value of 6,019,980,000 UZS.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 246, Part 1, and Article 251-1, Part 5 of the Criminal Code. Measures are being taken to identify and apprehend the owners of the seized drugs.
