Davron Vakhabov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, revealed in an interview with the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel that, following proposals from entrepreneurs, there are plans to lift restrictions on the import of powdered milk.
As part of efforts to expand dairy production, new laboratories will be established within six months in the Namangan, Samarkand, and Tashkent regions. These laboratories will implement a system of labeling that clearly indicates whether a product contains natural or powdered milk.
Vakhabov highlighted that such labeling will empower consumers to make informed decisions when purchasing dairy products.
“For instance, if ice cream or cheese products are made using powdered milk, consumers should have the option to choose between products made from natural milk and those made from powdered milk. The president has instructed the creation of accredited laboratories to support this initiative, and he has fully endorsed the proposal,” Vakhabov stated.
