Eldor Shomurodov recognized as best player of the year in Uzbekistan

In Tashkent, UFA held a ceremony to determine the best players of the year. It announced the best player in the country in 2019.

In a poll among football players, coaches and journalists, a striker of the national team of Uzbekistan and the FC Rostov Eldor Shomurodov was recognized as the best player of the year.

In addition to Shomurodov, Odil Ahmedov and Jaloliddin Masharipov were nominated for the best player nomination.

For the first time in his career Shomurodov has been recognized as the best player of Uzbekistan. The forward has never even been listed in the TOP-3 candidates before.

Shomurodov, who is currently second in the Russian Championship scorers with 10 goals, was fourth in the best Russian player of the year poll.

At the ceremony, the best coach of the year was also announced. According to the results of voting, the coach of Bunyodkor and the national team of Uzbekistan Vadim Abramov was recognized as the best coach of Uzbekistan in 2019.

The leader of the national team of Uzbekistan, at the same time a member of the Shanghai SIPG club Odil Akhmedov, was awarded with the special award “Fidoyilik ramzi” (“Symbol of dedication”).

In addition, 17-year-old Jasur Jaloliddinov, who spent the last season with Bunyodkor FC and will play for the Italian Benevento next year, was awarded as the best young player in Uzbekistan in 2019.
