The International Kurash Association (IKA) Anti-Doping Commission has suspended two athletes from Uzbekistan for violating anti-doping rules, the IKA website reports.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) identified the content of prohibited substances in the samples of two Uzbek athletes, taken during the Kurash World Cup and the World Martial Arts Games, held in September 2019 in Korea.

In the sample of Gulnor Sulaymanova (winner in the weight category up to 52 kg among women), the metabolite Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone was found, and in the sample of Abror Jabborov (winner in the weight category up to 60 kg) – the furosemide diuretic.

By the decision of the anti-doping commission, Sulaymanova was suspended from participation in competitions for a period of 4 years, and Jabborov – for 2 years. Their results at the World Cup and the World Martial Arts Games in Korea were also annulled.

As a result, the gold medal in the weight category up to 52 kg among women goes to the representatives of Turkmenistan Ainur Amanova, and in the weight category up to 60 kg among men – Shamuhammet Kurbanov (also an athlete from Turkmenistan).
