Pakhtakor stadium is the sixth most visited sports ground in Asian Champions League, Sputnik writes with reference to the football club’s website.
“In terms of attendance at home matches of the Champions League, Pakhtakor ranks third among West Asian clubs. An average of 24,972 fans came to our stadium for each match. Only Iranian giants Esteghlal and Persepolis are ahead,” the report said.
It turned out that in the Asian Champions League, Pakhtakor is in the TOP-6 and takes the second place in the Super League of Uzbekistan.
It should be recalled that in November, people started talking about the demolition of the home stadium of Tashkent’s FC Pakhtakor. Information even appeared in the press that the arena has already been closed and the team will no longer enter this field.
The club’s press service stated that the final decision and the approved project of the new stadium, which they plan to build in the same place, have not yet been finalized.
For information, Pakhtakor stadium is one of the main football arenas in Uzbekistan. Its construction began in 1954, and was completed in 1956. Initially, the stands accommodated 55,000 spectators, but after several reconstructions, the number of seats decreased by one and a half times.
