The leadership of Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) decided to dismiss the entire coaching staff of the youth national team after the incident with the Saudi team, which occurred as part of the qualifying round of the Asian Championship U-19.
The match, held on November 10, ended in a draw – 1:1. According to media reports, a fight between the teams took place on the stadium.
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Disciplinary Committee has investigated the incident. Then a letter was sent to the AFU informing that during the match, the coaches of the youth national team of Uzbekistan behaved unprofessionally and that they could be disqualified by the next matches.
“After watching the video recording of the incident, the AFU Executive Committee decided to dismiss the entire coaching staff of the youth national team of Uzbekistan under 19 years old, headed by the head coach Otabek Gulyamkhodjayev,” the UFA said.
It is noted that the head coach post of the “youth national team” was occupied by Temur Kapadze, who will prepare the team for the final stage of the Asian Championship in Tashkent on October 14-31.
A preparation plan for the upcoming competition has already been developed for the team. According to the schedule, the preparation date of the national team does not coincide with the calendar of the national team of Uzbekistan in the FIFA days. Therefore, Timur Kapadze will have the opportunity to continue working as an assistant head coach of the national team of Uzbekistan.
