According to the Tashkent police department, 29,000 tickets were sold until November 14, 17:15. In this match, the national team of Uzbekistan lost by 2:3.
“In general, almost 10,000 more people came to the stadium, which is designed only for 30,000 spectators. Many of those who did not have a ticket hoped to purchase it literally half an hour before the start of the match,” the police department said.
Many fans wanted to get to the stadium faster, bypassing bag searches. According to the security rules, during such mass events, inspection of bags is required.
Reportedly, everyone rushed to the checkpoints organized at the stadium. As a result, latecomers created a crush and disorder by 17:30.
Moreover, those who did not have tickets, hoping to take advantage of the hustle and bustle, attempted to enter the stadium.
Based on the results of the event, taking into account the identified shortcomings of the Tashkent police department, a presentation will be made to its organizers so that such incidents are not allowed in the future.
