Vadim Abramov considers his appointment as the head coach of the Uzbekistan national football team to be a great responsibility. He told about this during an exclusive interview with Tribuna.uz correspondent.

“This is a big responsibility, I understand where I'm going and what is expected of me. We need to concentrate and time will tell whether I can handle it or not,” Abramov said.  

At the same time, he finds it difficult to answer whether the team under his leadership will be able to qualify for the World Cup.

“I can comment on this only after we reach the qualifying stage - when we get to know the players and see what we are capable of together. We are lagging behind, there is an opponent ahead of us, who already has 4 points. First, we need to solve this problem, and then we can talk about the World Cup,” Abramov said.

According to him, in the upcoming two games against Yemen and Singapore, “a very serious battle” awaits the national team of Uzbekistan. “Considering the climatic conditions and flights, we take these two games very seriously. The task is to win the games,” the head coach emphasized.

“The national team should have the best players, this is not a boarding house for acquaintances. Who will look good by October 10, he will play regardless of his surname and where he plays,” he answered a question about possible permutations in the national team.
