Uzbek judokas, who took part in the 2019 World Judo Championships in Tokyo, arrived in Tashkent last night, the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan reported.
The athletes were welcomed at the Tashkent International Airport by representatives of the National Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports, the Judo Federation of Uzbekistan and the mass media.
The competitions were held from August 25 to September 1 and were attended by more than 800 athletes from 140 countries. The national team of Uzbekistan showed notable results in the events.
An Uzbek athlete Sharofiddin Lutfillayev in the weight category up to 60 kilograms was awarded a silver medal and became the first in a row in the updated Olympic rating. Other Uzbek judokas also managed to get valuable rating points.
Now, after a short break, the Uzbek judokas will begin preparations for the Tashkent Grand Prix, which will be held on September 20-22.
